This document should help new students find out who is responsible inside the group for certain things. This applies to Bachelor/Master Students as well as PhD Students.

First steps in the Lab

  • Ursula Hahn-Wörgötter: Register as a student with our secrectary Ursula
  • Ursula Hahn-Wörgötter: Get the clearance for our office doors activated on your student id
  • Dieter Hille: Get a key for your office/lab
  • Moritz Becker: Let Moritz know that you started in the group as he organizes the Research Seminar

Get a computer

  • Your Supervisor/Florian Teich: Ask your supervisor which Computer is currently available and let Florian know which one you will be using
  • Thomas Geiling: Let Thomas configure your IP settings and give him admin access to your computer

Resources

  • Thomas Geiling: If you have a contract with the university, you should have a GWDG account (otherwise, ask Thomas Geiling). The GWDG offers a lot of Services you can benefit from as eMail, GitLab server, OwnCloud space, ShareLatex environment etc.
  • Florian Teich: We recommend the GWDG hosted GitLab service and created a group there in order to checkout colleagues repositories easily. Ask Florian to include you in this group.
  • Your Supervisor: Go to your and obtain access to relevant projects

Get aceess to our GPU-Server

  • Florian Teich: Ask Florian to give you access to the “Frankfurt” Server

  • Florian Teich: If you have published something, let Florian know, so he can update the publication page
